Chapter 147: To Blessings, Then
The pain vanished as quick as it came, allowing Leo to breathe, ’Fuck that hurt so much,’ he thought.
As his eyes fluttered open, he spotted Astra unleashing a primal scream that echoed through the cave. She was wielding a blade that sang as it slashed through a dozen Wendigos, their twisted forms collapsing.
While that battle was happening, he gazed past the Demon Queen, only to notice Veladra fighting a fierce pack of Orc that tried to overwhelm the red-skinned beauty. Leo gritted his teeth and got to his feet.
He thrust his hand forward, power surging through his veins as he unleashed a storm of destruction. Thunderbolts cracked like the wrath of the heavens, tearing through the air with blinding brilliance, while fiery orbs roared forth like miniature suns.
Each spell struck its mark with devastating precision, erupting in blinding explosions that shook the cave to its core. The cavern trembled under the relentless barrage; the monsters consumed by lightning and fire.
Leo fell on his ass as the pain lingered, but that’s when the two women spun around with wide eyes. Astra was the first to react and lunged at him while wrapping him in a tight hug while she fussed over him.
’’How are you alive?’’ she asked with wide, red eyes. ’’The Devil’s poison was eating at your body.’’
’’I’m fine now, just need to rest for a while before we can continue on,’’ he said while catching his breath.
The two women agreed with nods just as he cast a Mana Barrier at the entrance, ’That should do and keep those annoying Wendigo’s away,’ he thought.
Following that, Leo started resting as his body started healing itself and, after a few hours, he felt better. He finally sat up and noticed Astra was curled up next to him while Veladra was poking the fire.
Without a sound, he materialized beside the demoness, his sudden presence startling her into a rare display of surprise. She jumped slightly, her yellow eyes widening as she exclaimed, ’’Oh damn, Master, you scared me!’’
