Chapter 4: Dark Goddess Of Thaloria
Everything went black for Leo as the explosion claimed them all. But when he opened his eyes, he found himself in a brightly lit room, a simple desk in front of him. Confusion gripped him as he quickly scanned the space, realizing nothing else was around.
''Where am I?'' he wondered, the memories of the crash rushing back like a flood.
''You died on Earth, Leo Anderson,'' a woman's voice echoed from all directions, smooth yet powerful. ''But I have chosen you to be my champion on Thaloria.''
'Damn, life was starting to get good,' Leo thought with frustration. 'I wish Roxy was here so I can relieve this stress.'
That's when he remembered the voice's cryptic words, prompting an exasperated sigh. He raised an eyebrow and warned the mysterious presence, ''I'm not playing hero or taking down any Demon King. I just died, and I'm not in the mood for some righteous quest!''
A laugh echoed in response, light, and teasing. The woman spoke again, her tone dripping with mischief. ''Oh, don't worry! You won't have to be a hero. The Demon Queen will fall head over heels for you, especially once you get my gifts, Leo. Trust me, no one could resist your charm!''
''Gifts?'' he questioned. ''So you're giving me some powerful magic or spells? And who are you?''
After speaking, a woman figure appeared sitting on the opposite, taking him by surprise before she answered, ''I am the Dark Goddess of Thaloria, but my gift is called the Charm System that comes with what I call a skill called Charm Spins that will grant you powerful things to aid you; all I ask of you is to entertain me during your adventures.''
Leo grew confused, but shrugged. ''If you want me to do this, let me see your real face.''
