Chapter 463: Something to share (2)
Annalise shifted in her sleep, trying to make herself more comfortable. Her foot slipping out of the blanket woke her out of her sleep.
She was greeted by the sight of the tent cover and behind it was the shadow of the fire she had started. The fire still appeared big which meant Rafael had thrown more wood on it while she was sleeping.
Annalise couldn’t remember when she had fallen asleep and if she had come to the tent herself to rest. She barely remembered eating a bit of her food and the rest was a mystery from then on.
Annalise stared at the fire and listened to the sounds coming from outside. From the insects that just couldn’t help making their presence known and the faint noises coming from the horses. The fire was the loudest, but she enjoyed the crackling noise as the wood burned.
Annalise shifted her foot to have it back in the blanket and accidentally pressed it against Rafael’s arm around her. She stayed still in an effort to not wake him up, but Rafael was already awake as he had to watch out for danger.
"Are you cold?" Rafael asked. She had been moving around a lot since she went to bed.
Rafael had placed the blanket to cover most of Annalise because he believed she was cold.
"No. My foot slipped out of the blanket so I woke up. Have you slept at all since we ate?" Annalise questioned, hoping that he did and he was not planning to stay awake all night long.
"A little. I’ll go back to sleep after you do. You’ve been moving around a lot. Is it not comfortable?"
