The Knight's Mysterious Maid

Chapter 441: Circle (1)

"My money won’t work here. How can I pay for my pants, Annalise?" Giselle asked, worried she might not get the pants she liked now that she realised the money was different. It hadn’t crossed her mind that she would be poor here.

"Your money will work at a few shops. They exchange the money with our scouts who go across the Castro kingdom. I will take care of the pants you picked out and what else you want to buy. You weren’t meant to pay for the pants in the first place when it was my idea. I will send over the money by evening," Annalise told the tailor.

"Of course."

"I have forgotten that you are like royalty here, Annalise. We need to get you to dress up like a queen one day. Something red might suit you," Hieid said, planning for what Annalise would wear.

"You would need to catch me first to make me dress up. I am more comfortable in pants so if you could make them fancy, then I would get dressed up. The knights are quite busy," Annalise said, looking out the window at the knights dressed in casual clothes and walking around with boxes in their hands. "Are they already gathering what they need for the trip back? Rafael is not in sight."

"He must be up to something. Is your birthday near?" Giselle asked.

"It is not. You would have known that by father wanting to have a feast. If it was my birthday, why would Rafael be nowhere in sight? It is like he is hiding from me. Maybe I should ask the knights where he is or better yet, hunt him down," Annalise said, finding the latter to be the better option.

"Then you will appear clingy and it might bother him. You should leave him wherever he is. I am certain that he is off somewhere trying to get familiar with your home while you are here with us. I do agree that he should have come to greet you, but I wouldn’t go to him now," Heidi said, panicking that Annalise might ruin her surprise.

She had one single task from Rafael which was to keep Annalise busy for the day. Heidi didn’t know what was happening for her to keep an eye on Annalise, but she was doing a good job at keeping Analise distracted. Heidi regretted not asking Rafael last night what this was all for, but she wasn’t comfortable with speaking to him just yet.
