Chapter 428: Uninvited guest (2)
"Well, before you left I was thinking about whether or not I should join you. Then you left so I thought it was too late to come to Lockwood, but it started to become boring without you, Siena, and Hiedi around. I didn’t want to bother Lady Beatrice or the knights I met so I pleaded with my uncle, he said yes, and dropped me off here. Surprise," Giselle said, holding up her hands.
Her uncle was still in Lockwood waiting to hear if she would get to stay so she needed an answer from Annalise fast.
"Your uncle must really love you to make the long ride here just so you could be with friends. You should have made up your mind before we left so you wouldn’t have someone else spend so much time to bring you here and then he has to go back alone I assume. See," Annalise sighed as Giselle nodded her head.
"You are aware that I will be going to the border to see my parents, right? We will not be going back to the manor just yet and even then, it will take some days before we reach the manor. Did you inform your uncle of us going to the border? Again I must assume that you are planning to go there with us," said Annalise.
She couldn’t just jump for joy and be excited Giselle was here when there was much to consider. There was too much going on to add to Giselle’s uncle chasing them down to get her back because he wasn’t aware of her joining them at the border. Giselle was fine from where Annalise came from, but what about her uncle?
"Oh, I told him about that and he promised not to tell anyone about it. I got my brother to help me convince him and we heard the strangest story from him. My brother assured him that the knights would keep me safe and if I stayed away too long, my brother would ride out to join Rafael. I hope he won’t get in trouble," Giselle said because he was doing this just for her.
"Why haven’t you pointed out which knight is your brother yet? I never see when you two are talking in the manor. Do you even have a brother or was that a trick to get closer to Rafael in the past, but now you have to keep up with it?" Annalise questioned, suspicious of this mystery brother now.
"I was never so crazy for Rafael to make up a brother. Besides, he would have known that I was lying. My brother is always off to the side so it is hard for me to find him sometimes. I normally pass on what I brought him or want to say to him to another knight. When we return, I will introduce you to George," Giselle promised.
Annalise couldn’t remember speaking with a knight named George, but there were so many for her to keep track of.
"Since your uncle is fine with it and I hope you are not lying, you can stay. You might need to share a room with Siena or Heidi because the mansion isn’t as big as the manor and all the rooms are filled by the knights here with us. I will let Rafael know that we have one more person joining us. He won’t be thrilled right away, but I will convince him," said Annalise.
"Great! I need to send a note to my uncle letting him know he can leave. Excuse me," Giselle said, going around Annalise, but then stopped. "How would I send him a letter from here?"
