Chapter 369: Something new (2)
"I don’t need an apple, but thank you. Do you need help?" Siena asked, reaching out to help him hold the bag, but then she pulled back. He was struggling to find her an apple she didn’t need.
"I don’t. They seemed to have rolled to the bottom now that I want one. You’re missing out. They are sweet and I’ll bet you won’t find one as good as the ones I have now during winter. Or maybe you might if you are a lady full of luck. What is this party about?" Logan asked, giving up his search for an apple.
"I don’t know. I only know that I am supposed to be getting a new dress and Rafael is meant to be at my side by the end of it. I don’t think that will happen but I still have to prepare myself for it," Siena answered.
Travis was going all out for the party as if he was certain Rafael would show so it worried her.
"I wouldn’t hold my breath waiting for Rafael to show up. Not unless he plans to tear down wherever the party is held. He’s so in love- ugh," Logan stopped, realising she wouldn’t know about Rafael and Annalise. "He’s so in love with staying at home."
"I know what you were going to say. It is fine. I saw with my eyes who made him happy. I will find my happiness elsewhere. Hopefully," Siena said, looking off to the side where she spotted the guards keeping up with her and Logan. "I wonder if this is what it is like to be royalty. To be so guarded."
"The king doesn’t walk around with many guards. The queen might, but the king would normally run to lose his guards," said Logan. He had seen it many times. He was also aware of the king sneaking out of the palace a lot.
Siena’s eyes widened as it dawned on her that as a knight he would be in the palace. "You have met the king and queen, haven’t you? Ventured inside the palace? What is it like there? Are the balls rally as grand as they say?"
"It is surprising that you have not entered the palace. You look like a pretty important person," said Logan.
