Chapter 316: Family dinner (2)
Annalise covered her mouth with her right hand to hide her smile. She entered her room after previously leaving to let Rafael get changed in her father’s clothes. "They almost fit you well, but it is funny to see you wearing them. I can’t," she snorted, giving into her laughter.
"Very funny, Annalise. Had you informed me that you wanted me to come to dinner, I would have brought my own clothes. I would rather sit in my armour than these clothes," Rafael said, straightening out the shirt.
He would have preferred if she had bought him new clothes instead of looking for something from her father’s closet.
"Your armour would make dinner more awkward than it needs to be. These clothes do not look bad on you. I am just laughing at how you are acting because they belong to my father. It will only be a few hours and then I will take you back so you can get back into your clothes. Don’t pout," Annalise said, walking to Rafael.
"It won’t be long before we leave here and go to Lockwood to speak with the king. You only need to endure this for now. You don’t need to try hard to make my father like you since it is useless. He’s going to keep hating that I am with you. River’s son," Annalise said, pushing Rafael’s hair to be out of his face. "What did you have your hair tied with? It fell out."
"I will tie it again before we go down. It is soon time to cut it-"
"You can’t!" Annalise exclaimed. "Why would you cut your hair? It is fine the way it is now."
’’Because it is annoying when it gets too long. I need to cut it and let it grow again," Rafael said, turning his head slightly to look at his hair dropping over his shoulder.
He had meant to cut it when he had returned from his last excursion, but there were many things that distracted him. Now, he had the time to cut. Or maybe he didn’t because of the way Annalise was staring at him like he gave her terrible news.
