"Please take your hand off of me, Rafael. You are only doing this for the sake of touching me. Being in a tub with a good-looking man would be much better if there was food. Am I to wait here for you to return from having dinner with your family?" Annalise asked since it was nearing time for dinner. They would soon need to part ways to get food.
"You can always join us for dinner," Rafael replied, continuing to wash her body diligently. Despite what Annalise said, she made no attempt to move his hands.
"And have your mother assume that something happened between us? Isn’t that what we should avoid at the moment? I will eat with the other servants and knights. Then I will return here when it gets quiet. I will be like a mouse," Annalise said.
"Then again, you might be busy later getting questions out of anyone you captured or speaking to Logan to hear what happened in your absence. We can’t be like this tomorrow since we must head back to the manor," Annalise said, realising it was the last time she was going to share Rafael’s bed with him.
"I will have dinner here," Rafael said. "Being injured and having you take care of me is a good excuse."
"My my. You really are smitten with me. So much that you cannot bear to go down to dinner with your family. The more you show this side of you, the more it will boost my ego so please, don’t ever stop it," Annalise said, going forward to get away from Rafael so she could turn to look at him. "I had no idea what a wonderful sight I was missing behind me."
Rafael placed the cloth he was using to wipe her to lay on the side of the tub. "You speak of me being a flirt, but you’ve got quite the tongue."
"See, I don’t know if you’re complimenting me, being dirty, or both. I was right about you from the very beginning that you are not as innocent as everyone thinks you are. Everyone speaks of you being kind, but I saw the truth. An annoying knight who likes to tease others. That’s what you are,
Annalise said, poking his leg under the water.
