Chapter 262: Connected (2)
"It will not hurt," Rafael answered, urging her to do whatever was on her mind. He was excited until he noticed a few marks on her neck. "Did someone attack you?"
"Oh!" Annalise remembered, looking down at the cuts on her hands. "They should be fine by morning. They don’t sting anymore."
Rafael looked away from her neck since Annalise’s reaction showed that she had cuts elsewhere and found a long red mark on the palm of her right hand. "What happened?" Rafael asked, taking up her hand to see it more clearly.
"I killed someone and he kind of scratched me a bit. Trying to push away the sword also cut me. It is a fair trade considering I tried to dig out his eyes with my hands. I really need to get out of this dress," Annalise muttered, looking down to inspect the dress for any blood.
She was to get out of the dress to change into something that did not have death lingering on it when she returned, but coming to Rafael stopped her.
"What are the chances of someone coming to you now?" Annalise asked, turning around so Rafael could help her out of her dress. She would have to hide if someone urgently needed to speak to Rafael.
"As long as the door is locked, it doesn’t matter who comes. I won’t speak with them now," Rafael answered.
Unless there was another attack on the home, he didn’t care to hear from anyone coming to speak to him.
Rafael worked quickly to undo the buttons so he could see where else she had been hurt. The man was lucky to be dead after causing Annalise harm.
