Chapter 236: Dresses, drama, and tears (6)
Annalise squeezed Rafael’s coat as she kissed him, unable to believe that she was kissing him again and she was the one to start it this time.
"Annalise. Wait," Rafael said, pushing her up to stop the kiss. He sat up and looked around to see if anyone was spying on them.
Annalise sat back confused by why he stopped her when this was what he wanted for as long as she could remember. Her confusion thankfully didn’t last long.
"Not here. Someone will see and interrupt us," Rafael said, getting to his feet and then he helped Annalise up.
They weren’t far from where the other guests were inside the ball and the few couples coming out to see the garden. He could do with a small pause now to find somewhere they would be out of sight rather than getting interrupted when it became more heated.
Rafael wasn’t familiar with the estate since the ball tended to move around each year. He walked to where there wasn’t much light and no way for anyone to spot them without him hearing them coming.
Rafael stopped when they entered a space with a few trees and pressed Annalise up against the nearest one. He could not walk any further to find somewhere better as he was at his limit and he had to act quickly before Annalise reverted back to not wanting anything to do with him.
"You have not changed your mind, have you?" Rafael asked, not touching her until she answered. It almost didn’t feel real that Annalise had kissed him so he started to think this was all in his head after Annaise flipped him.
Whatever it was, he was going to enjoy every second of it.
