"I’m afraid I must depart now or I will have Lady Everett worrying about me. We are to head out to find a dress for me to wear to your ball. I hope to hear from you soon for what time we shall meet at the ball," Siena said to Rafael as she stood up.
Real or not, she was going to make good use of her time with him.
Wendy stood to walk Siena out of her home and see her off.
Beatrice bid Siena goodbye and stayed back so she could have a word with her son. "What are you thinking to say yes to take her to Wendy’s ball? Did you hit your head and forget that you like Annalise? Did I ruin that when I caught the two of you in the garden?"
"You didn’t-"
"So why are you taking another woman to a ball? I told you not to play with anyone," Beatrice said, starting to feel like it was what he was doing. "You can’t be doing things that most wouldn’t do with their servants and then taking a young lady like Siena to a ball. How do you expect Annalise to feel?"
"Hopefully jealous," Rafael replied. "That would mean she feels something for me, right?"
"What?" Beatrice asked, confused as to what he was trying to get at.
"I still like Annalise, mother. I am not playing with her feelings. Instead, I am trying to show that she might have feelings for me," said Rafael.
