Chapter 188: Hot and bothered (1)
Rafael wasn’t the slightest bit thrilled to see the young woman standing before him once again. She was somehow picked to honour him with her charm since he had won his match. There had to be someone behind her who was pulling the strings to get her close to him.
Rafael had not seen her before and he did not want to see much more of her. He didn’t have to guess why she was approaching him. Another young lady looking to marry him.
Not wanting to ruin the contest with his sour mood when it had become a bit of a tradition for a lady to be picked and bring the winner a gift, he allowed her to tie her charm to his sword, right under where Annalise’s ribbon was tied.
He was a bit impatient to see what had caused Annalise to yell and then storm off. From little glances, he could see that she was standing with Giselle. The last he saw the two of them together, he did not like the way Giselle had grabbed Annalise.
"You seem to have somewhere to go. Forgive me for my trembling fingers. I can’t seem to tie it right," Siena apologised.
She was normally more composed by this, but standing before him made her nervous. She was close to him in order to tie the charm on his sword.
"Let me do it," Rafael said, touching her hand to make her stop.
"It is the lady who needs to tie it on. I am almost finished. You were as good as I had heard. I told you that I am not from this town. I enjoy seeing games like this and I have been waiting so long to see your knights. I was hoping to see your father since I have heard so many stories about him. Will he be here today? I have brought a gift for him," Siena said, letting go of the charm now that it was tied.
"Getting close to my father won’t make me court you. Excuse me," Rafael said, stepping to the side to be out of her way. He had to get to Annalise to find out what trouble she found herself in.
