Chapter 170: Advice (2)
"No?" Logan questioned, following Beatrice to get an explanation for what she meant. He licked his lips and then asked, "Did he tell you? It’s not fair for you to get involved when it is up to Annalise to make a choice. I am just as deserving of her as he is."
Beatrice looked around the hall to make sure there weren’t any maids listening. "Logan, I’m a woman. I can tell when another woman is not interested in a man courting her. I will leave you two boys to figure it out, but once again, no."
"Oh, come on. I know you want Rafael to get married but feel for me. I want to be loved too," Logan said, placing his hand on his chest to comfort his heart.
Beatrice sighed, slowing down to speak with Logan. "I look at all of you as my second sons and I want all of you to get married just as much as I want Rafael to get married. Did you close your eyes when she was looking at you? If I am not mistaken, she did not look happy to see you. You need to pay attention to those looks."
"Your pushy behaviour to get her to return your feelings can sometimes work since the woman might give in or it can ruin your chances of ever being friends. I want Rafael to get the woman he likes, but I will offer you a bit of advice. Back off," she advised him.
"That just sounds like you are looking to get me out of the way so Rafael can spend some time with her. As my second mother, you need to be fair," Logan replied, hoping Beatrice would stay out of it. He wouldn’t want her to hate him since he would be keeping Annalise to himself. Rafael had plenty of women ready to fall to his feet.
"I was giving you proper advice as a lady who was once courted by many. Do not ignore the looks a woman gives you. Do not be pushy when she tells you to go away. You are only ruining your chances of being with her when you don’t listen. You are a sweet young man who would make a lovely partner, but you need to change how you approach the woman you are courting," Beatrice further explained.
She did not mean back off as for him to completely give up on Annalise, but to back off to give the young woman some space. No woman enjoyed being pestered.
Logan should know this by now since Beatrice had caught him with many women on different occasions when she went to the market. He was not new to knowing how to court a lady. Perhaps his being in love made him forget what he did before to make women love him.
Beatrice could not believe the day he was having with Rafael liking Annalise and now Logan. She pinched herself to double-check that she had not been dreaming. It would be terrible if this were to be a dream. Logan suddenly becoming a thorn in Rafael’s blooming romance was starting to feel like a nightmare.
Logan continued to follow Beatrice to wherever she was going. He could use her advice, but he didn’t like hearing he had to back off. Now that he was competing against Rafael, backing off did not sound like the best advice. It was the wrong kind of advice he needed right now."
"I normally wouldn’t pursue her for so long after she has rejected me, but seeing her flare up when she sees me is something I enjoy. I’ve never enjoyed having someone wanting to kill me more than I do now. You should offer advice to your son."
