Chapter 166: Love (4)
Travis watched the little smile that formed on Siena’s lips after hearing there was hope for her and Rafael to fall in love. As long as she was happy and ready to do her part in all of this, he didn’t care. He needed her to stay oblivious about the woman staying with Rafael so he wouldn’t have to hear about Rafael not loving her.
Men had other women all the time. She needed to get used to it and continue to court Rafael, but since she was one to be hooked up on love, he had to keep her in the dark for now. Travis wasn’t in the mood for any more conversations about love.
"I will go into the market after breakfast to get a good look around at the town. It will one day be my home so I wish to see more of it. I might even hear more stories about Rafael. It would be lovely if I could run into him and he doesn’t know that we are to wed. Do you mind if I keep it a secret that I am staying with his uncle?" Siena asked, hoping he would allow it.
She didn’t know much about the Normans’ history with Rafael, but since she had never seen Rafael visit her home town to see his relatives, she could only assume they were not on good terms. If that was true, Rafael might not be happy to see her if he knew right away that she was staying with his uncle.
It was better for the two of them to meet on their own and talk. Siena hoped that there would be some miracle to have her meeting with Rafael today when she was going to the market. It was about time she got to see him face-to-face instead of looking at portraits.
"I can do that," Travis replied. It fell right into the plans for her and Rafael to meet without their future wedding being known.
Travis looked forward to seeing the shock on Rafael’s face when he showed up next to Siena. It would be even more entertaining to see the look on Beatrice’s face with her realising she had fallen right into his trap.
Siena smiled and took the napkin from the table to fold over her dress to get breakfast started. She wanted to leave as soon as possible so she could travel near Rafael’s manor first before going to the market.
"Oh, did you hear that noise in the middle of the night? I came out for a walk and heard someone screaming. I-"
