Chapter 133: Feelings (3)
Annalise felt better after a moment passed with the dress not hugging her body. She wouldn’t wish it on her worst enemy to have to wear a dress like that. Beatrice didn’t look that much smaller than her so why was the dress so tight?
’How did I end up picking the tightest dress from his mother’s-’ Annalise froze.
Only now was she aware of the position she was in with Rafael. With him touching her and her head resting against his chest. The latter she had done on her own accord. She had been so relieved by what he did that she had not noticed how they stood and she failed to panic about her dress being ripped open.
How was she to walk out of here and not have any assumptions made about them? Even if she were to wear a coat, it would seem suspicious for her to have it hiding her torn dress after being alone with him. Annalise doubted all the servants had left so now she was stuck here with a torn dress.
"Rafael?" Annalise broke the silence. She lifted her head so she would not be touching him. "You can let go of the dress now. I do not think it will all fall to the floor if you let go now. I hope," she muttered.
Rafael let go of Annalise before there was something she noticed and place her in a difficult spot. If they stood together any longer, his body would have her feel his attraction to her. He stepped back, peering down at her as she stared at him with a thankful expression. She no longer forced a smile to pretend.
"Stay here. I will get another dress from my mother’s-"
"Won’t it be a waste since this one was tight? I do not want to have any more of them torn," Annalise said.
"You just happened to pick one of the smaller dresses. It is not uncommon for women to pick dresses smaller than them to help show off their bodies. They breathe when they get home and some of the dresses have been in that room for a long time. My mother’s body has changed since then. I will have Mavis get rid of the ones that can no longer fit my mother. Unless you want to have them?" Rafael offered.
