Chapter 120: A game (1)
"It is a beautiful day, River. We should leave the carriage and go for a nice walk. When was the last time we walked around and enjoyed the weather?" Beatrice asked. The sun was out and it just seemed like a good day for the two of them to spend time outside.
"It has been a while. If that is what you want, I will get your umbrella," River replied.
"Oh River," Beatrice sighed, feeling like her heart was going to burst because of her emotions. "If it is not something you want to do right now, we can stay inside. I’m sure you have work to do so do not mind me. We can walk tomorrow."
"What are you talking about? I have nothing to do today and I do not mind walking with you. It is better than just walking around our home. As long as you don’t plan to walk straight to Rafael’s home and ask to spend the night there," River said, seeing right through her plan.
"I wouldn’t do that again. We got to spend some time with him yesterday so I will give him some space. I cannot believe he came to visit us and he brought Annalise with him. I know that I shouldn’t meddle with his love life, but something’s telling me that I should now because there was something I noticed with his visit yesterday. Time will tell," Beatrice said, wanting to see a bit more before she would make a move.
River remained silent since he had no plans to get involved with Rafael getting married and who the young lady would be. The Delilah issue was enough to show that they should sit back and let Rafael deal with his life. They had raised a smart young man who would make the right decision and if he did not, it was his mistake to fix.
He rather not share his opinion with his wife for her to glare at him and lecture him about not having grandchildren if she did not give Rafael a little push.
"Charles! You look as if you have seen a ghost," Beatrice commented on the butler’s face as he returned to the dining room. He looked reluctant to tell them about something.
River also found Charles’ behaviour to be strange since the butler was smiling about something before he went to the door. "What is it?"
