[BL] Dear Hushand, I want divorce

Chapter 81: I’m not crazy!

Elijah’s pov ;

As I stood in the hospital room, the familiar scent of disinfectant and antiseptic filling my nostrils, I carefully sliced up pieces of fruit onto a plate. Suddenly, I heard a soft rustling from the bed behind me. Turning, my heart leaped at the sight of Ash waking up, a smile immediately lighting up his face when his eyes landed on me. He extended his hands towards me with sleepy eyes and morning hair, and I couldn’t help but grin widely.

With excitement bubbling inside me, I set aside the plate and rushed to his side, enveloping him in a warm hug before planting a gentle kiss on his lips.

I didn’t sleep the whole night and stayed by his side to make sure he was alright and wouldn’t wake up due to any nightmares. However, no matter how tired I was feeling, it all seemed to go away at the sight of his smile now. His happiness could vanish all my exhaustion.

A nurse came into the room with a tray of breakfast, and I took it from her with a grateful nod. Sitting beside Ash on the bed, I began to feed him spoonfuls of oatmeal and pieces of fresh fruit, cherishing how adorable he looked right now.

"Why does the sky look bluer from this window?" he asked suddenly, his eyes wide with curiosity as he looked outside the window.

I chuckled softly at his question, finding his innocence and curiosity deeply endearing. "Maybe because you make everything brighter, love."

He giggled in response, taking another bite of fruit from my outstretched hand. Observing him closely, my heart swelled with affection for this remarkable person who had captured my heart. I wish I could grab him and put it into my pocket or just hide in my heart so that no one could hurt him.

Despite our current circumstances in a hospital room surrounded by illness and tension, he still managed to bring joy into every moment.

*************

As the afternoon sun filtered gently through the windows, I decided it was time for us to take a walk outside in the hospital park. The doctor had mentioned that walking would help Ash recover faster. Hand in hand, we strolled through the peaceful park, basking in the warmth of the sun and the sweet melodies of kids playing. With Ash by my side, even a simple walk became a treasured memory to hold onto forever.

When his legs got tired from walking, I quickly scanned the park for an empty bench. Spotting one, I guided him over and eased him down onto the smooth wooden surface. Sitting next to him, I couldn’t help but scoot closer, almost afraid to be even an inch away from him. It was as if I had been blind to his beauty and gentleness before, but now it was all I could see. Regret gnawed at me for all the I had wasted without loving him, all the moments that passed when I should have been adoring this amazing soul.
