Erasmi calmly bit into the muffin and cocked his head. "I don’t take kindly to threats, officer Hopkins. My car has been vandalized by those men who are now standing behind you and instead of investigating, you are threatening me. What would you like to say about that?"
Officer Hopkins chuckled dismissively. "This is my town. And those are my people. You are the one who is seeking trouble. Don’t try to act smart!"
