Chapter 31: There is no hope
The giant angel stood around eight meters tall, about half the height of the trees in that forest. Her four wings extending from her back were folded, while the ones coming from her head covered her eyes.
The group tensed at the sight, and upon seeing the angel’s golden eyes staring down at them, mages began to prepare their spells, those with Traits started activating them, and Qi users had their glowing swords already in hand.
Mark, who wielded both Qi and a Trait, activated both simultaneously, granting him immense strength at the cost of his sanity.
Silvia positioned herself further back, while Norkim stood in front of her with his shield and sword raised.
With their formation set, they waited.
The angel spoke with a beautiful voice and a gaze full of disdain.
"I am Luxian, an Equinox Angel guarding the Creator’s throne. I shall kill you here."
As she declared this, a golden light formed in her right hand, shaping into a grey halberd adorned with intricate golden details.
With a diagonal swing, a gust of wind blew, and golden sparks followed. The blade stopped once it pointed at the ground.
After that introduction, many charged forward. Mages with nature-based magic extended thick roots to help the warriors climb, or raised the ground to give them a boost.
Meanwhile, the other mages launched their most powerful spells.
