Chapter 23: A Visit to the Desert
Lilith, after hearing what I had just said,
"There’s not much to do there anymore. Ever since the barrier went up, the creatures inside have been pretty dumb—they just attack anything they see."
Hearing that, I thought,
Is it really necessary to go there after what she just said? What am I even going after?
Thinking a bit deeper, an idea came to me.
Why don’t I test the scythe there? Maybe it’s the safest place to use it, since I don’t know its full capabilities in this world. And I could take the opportunity to see what kind of creatures the bugs have turned into... or should I be calling them the Corrupted now?
With that in mind, I said,
"I’d like to run a few tests and see what kind of creatures they’ve become."
Lilith looked thoughtful, and after a moment she replied,
