Chapter 1392 - 366: Walking the Heavenly Path, Just Lending a Hand (5k)
After polluting the ruins once again, Yu Ziqing dusted off his hands and left.
Previously, he used filth to obscure his tracks and prevent others from following them, but people had learned from him. He didn't want anyone to know that he could still cleanse the pollution and glimpse the scenes hidden behind it.
Just thinking about how the filth bucket was being used made Yu Ziqing feel like he had started something bad.
But upon reflection, he had no way out. After using filth to obscure traces, he couldn't prevent others from knowing it was done using filth.
It was too easy to identify. Even if someone didn't notice the residue, methods similar to Moonlight, like the Shadow Great Mirror from the Shadow Department, could reveal what it was at a glance.
Imagining how, as the news spread, in the future, whether doing good or bad deeds, everyone would carry a filth bucket as standard equipment, he couldn't help but feel troubled.
Thinking that everyone might eventually be like Wu Shuangge, Yu Ziqing felt his vision darken.
It's truly a sin...
On the way back, Yu Ziqing glanced at Wu Shuangge, who was either staying on Jinlan Mountain or heading to Almsgiving Town.
In such encounters, he met all sorts of talented people. He couldn't tell what kind of person Wu Shuangge would become.
Thinking of the points of light on the Mixed Yuan Gold Bowl and comparing them with the distribution maps of the Divine Dynasties' cities, it seemed likely it was a map.
They could currently only use filth to differentiate which city was populated by which group of people.
According to Wu Shuangge's current trajectory, he might indeed reach a point where he could identify people by their waste.
Although, to be serious, for certain ailments, it was indeed a relevant reference point.
Yu Ziqing still felt a little strange.
He sensed that if he didn't return to Jinlan Mountain for a period, he'd fall behind on the changes happening there.
On the road, Yu Ziqing asked Wu Shuangge about his knowledge of Jinlan Mountain's internal affairs.
He heard that the village chief hadn't been beating people as much lately and wasn't in a rush to advance, becoming more and more composed.
Cece was preparing to continue stacking domains and had taken an interest in something in the Abyss recently.
Zhong Shouzheng was always enigmatic and rarely came out except when maintaining the Big Array.
After Ruan Renwang opened his eyes, the eastern part of Jinlan Mountain became more boisterous.
It was Ruan Renwang's prodding that led Cece to visit the Abyss.
Yu Ziqing thought that if he had time later, he should probably go back and check things out.
Furthermore, with Mr. Song also on Jinlan Mountain, if sparks flew amongst these people, it wouldn't be an ordinary ruckus.
For now, though, it was best to first clarify the matter of escorting the prisoner.
This was the first case of direct provocation since Dadui's return, and with the growing number of Evil Dao practitioners, it was essential to get to the bottom of things.
In West Qian, he couldn't stay too long or make any big moves. When using the Moonlight Divine Skills for playback, he saw several groups had already visited; who knew if more would come?
Upon returning to Dadui, Yu Ziqing just had to wait.
The Riddler would handle the peripheral issues.
As soon as he returned, he went to where Jia Shisi usually dealt with things, and the files were immediately placed on the desk.
Yu Ziqing opened the files, which were recorded in great detail.
The Riddler, though infuriating in the field, left nothing out when documenting the files, alongside various annotations and reactions during interrogations.
The batch of Evil Dao caught earlier didn't have high cultivation realms, none reaching Great Cultivator status.
They infiltrated Dadui, and if not for a small Evil Dao practitioner who, driven mad by greed, stumbled upon a rare Spiritual Medicine in one of Dadui's villages—a post-Ancient extinction—they would have succeeded.
This exposure came because of their actions; otherwise, there was a high chance they would have successfully infiltrated three thousand miles of Dadui.
After being captured, their confessions were no different from previous small Evil Dao practitioners, blinded by profit and unaware of Dadui's tenacity.
Their identities and backgrounds couldn't be determined.
Dadui couldn't send the Riddler to another Divine Dynasty to verify the identity of a small Evil Dao across thousands of miles, especially since it might not even matter.
Confirming there was such a person locally didn't guarantee that the one caught was them; even matching appearances can be faked.
The best method was to obtain the direct blood relatives' blood for verification.
But they'd fallen to Evil Dao status with no family ties remaining.
Of those with families, all traveled as family units, watching over each other.
Yu Ziqing wasn't too concerned about the Evil Dao's identity and background, just noted the information after reading it.
He focused on where this person came from, how they entered Dadui, and their route.
Luckily, the Riddler had undergone several reforms, following Jia Shisi in cleaning Dadui entirely, plus subsequent training and rules; his documentation was thorough, detailed to the point of tedium.
But without such detail, Yu Ziqing couldn't find what he needed now.
After reading the files, Yu Ziqing tapped the table.
A grotesque face emerged on the table.
The table monster smiled pleasurably, with a servile grin.
"Your Majesty, please speak."
"Speak properly."
The table monster immediately dropped its obsequious look and said.
"Your Majesty, feel free to ask."
"You should have duplicates of these files too, right? What do you know about this person?"
"Your Majesty, please open the first drawer on the left and have a look."
Yu Ziqing opened the drawer and found a stack of documents.
After a glance, he cast a sidelong look at the table monster. The phrasing used in these documents was clearly not Dadui's style but rather resembled the records of the Jinyi Wei.
