Chapter 1806 - 1807: The Monster in the Magma
The demon spirit stared dumbfounded at the scalding magma as it muttered, "You don't actually plan on going into that magma, do you? Even adamantine would melt in there."
Lin Chen smirked speechlessly, "As if I'd jump into magma, do you think I'm stupid?"
With those words, a pair of phoenix wings spread out behind Lin Chen.
Seeing this scene, the demon spirit was stunned.
After all, only certain races of the demon clan have wings, yet this guy is clearly human, how could he have wings?
Lin Chen chuckled, "Due to some special reasons, I possess a pair of phoenix wings."
Upon seeing the phoenix wings behind Li Feng, the demon spirit smiled bitterly, "Is there no justice? Even as a princess of the demon clan, I don't have wings, yet here you are, a human with a pair."
Lin Chen smiled faintly, "Haha, I just happen to be lucky."
"Alright then, you just wait here for a while, I'll go explore and see what's inside." Lin Chen said solemnly.
"Hold on a minute, even though you have phoenix wings, the temperature here is extremely high. You should be cautious and not venture too deep; otherwise, it could be dangerous," urged the demon spirit with concern.
Li Feng nodded, "Don't worry, I'll be careful."
Frowning, the demon spirit, despite the short time they've known each other, understood Li Feng's nature well, "Don't force it, if things appear off, retreat immediately."
"Got it," Lin Chen nodded, preparing to fly above the magma.
Suddenly, the demon spirit grabbed Lin Chen's hand, "Wait a moment."
Lin Chen asked helplessly, "What's wrong now?"
With fear in her eyes fixed on the magma, the demon spirit said, "I have a feeling there's something inside the magma, so be careful and don't get too close."
Lin Chen nodded, "Can you be certain what's inside?"
"No, I can only sense its presence but can't tell exactly what it is," the demon spirit stared at the rolling magma for a long time, saying helplessly.
Listening to the demon spirit's concern, Lin Chen's expression grew serious.
Creatures that can live in this scorching magma certainly aren't ordinary beasts.
The truth is, this scorching magma can melt iron itself; if there are living beings inside, it's quite inconceivable.
"Can you sense its power level?" Lin Chen continued to ask.
The demon spirit shook her head, "I can't sense it; however, I'm certain it's very strong, stronger than us both."
"Could it be a god-level creature?" The demon spirit gasped.
"Why don't you just not go?" the demon spirit asked worriedly.
Lin Chen shook his head, "No, I must go regardless of what might be inside."
After all, all this is just speculation; nobody is sure whether there's anything alive inside.
Perhaps entering will yield what I seek.
Lin Chen always remembered one thing; no manna falls from heaven, only by truly striving can one obtain what they desire.
Having made up his mind, Lin Chen shook his arms and flew into the air.
Lin Chen maintained a distance of seven to eight meters from the magma.
Watching Lin Chen soar into the air, the demon spirit shook her head helplessly.
For some reason, she always felt a peculiar fondness for this young man.
Despite one being human and the other a demon.
The demon spirit's gaze stayed firmly on the flying Lin Chen, silently praying, "You must safely come back."
Flying mid-air, Lin Chen's body was enveloped with spiritual energy as he activated Tianyan Divine Vision, examining the surroundings meticulously.
Though the demon spirit couldn't confirm what lurked within the magma, the pressure on Lin Chen remained heavy.
If something terrifying does emerge from the magma, he must react immediately.
This is magma; once plunged into it, one would be instantly dissolved into blood.
The cave's heat was overwhelming; despite his fire attribute, he couldn't help but feel sweat pouring from his body.
Anyone ordinary would have likely fainted from the intense heat by now.
Lin Chen flew slowly, cautious not to alarm any creatures within the magma.
Hovering above the magma, Lin Chen sensed it was like an endless ocean.
Utter silence, devoid of any life, it was suffocating.
As Lin Chen continued his flight, a burning sensation gripped his skin.
His clothes were getting singed.
After flying for a while longer, Lin Chen still hadn't noticed anything.
By now, he had flown nearly a thousand meters, the cave entrance shrinking to a mere dot.
Suddenly, Li Feng heard a sharp cry from not far away, "Lin Chen, hurry back! There's something behind you!"
The voice was the demon spirit's, traveling hundreds of meters without any problem due to the cave.
Lin Chen's heart sunk upon hearing it; he turned to see massive waves behind him. Through the waves, a gigantic creature had emerged, gaping its blood-red maw, lunging toward Lin Chen.
The entire magma ocean boiled at the creature's appearance.
Magma spread as the creature broke through.
Lin Chen could feel the searing breath approaching quickly.
His eyes narrowed, frantically activating spiritual energy, rushing toward the cave's ceiling.
Argh!
The creature nearly bit empty under Lin Chen's feet, retreated back into the magma.
Li Feng escaped the creature's attack without delay, dashing toward the cave.
Even though Li Feng possessed phoenix wings, the creature from the magma was equally swift, matching his pace.
The demon spirit cried anxiously from the shore, "Lin Chen, hurry up! It's gaining on you."
Seeing Lin Chen fall into an immortal realm, the demon spirit felt anxious, yet helpless.
Lin Chen dashed toward the entrance with all his might.
The creature, faster still, Lin Chen felt the creature's hot breath.
Argh!
The creature burst from the magma once more.
Lin Chen changed direction, evading its attack again.
At that moment, Lin Chen was extremely disheveled, with clothes singed.
Lin Chen dodged the creature's fatal blow, widening the gap between them.
Yet, the creature was relentless, emerging again, mouth open wide, spewing a massive fireball toward Lin Chen.
Feeling the scorching heat growing closer, Lin Chen's expression became grim.
Space Law!
Swish!
Lin Chen's body vanished into thin air, nearly simultaneous with the fireball's approach.
Seconds later, Lin Chen reappeared ten meters ahead, the colossal fireball smashed into a rock, pulverizing it into dust.
"Such a terrifying monster!" Lin Chen thought, astonished.
