Chapter 54: Summoning Dragons once again
"So what do we do now?" Drahon asked after a long silence.
"We keep moving," Ayvira said. "There’s still a wide stretch of land left to cover. The corrupted aura’s faded, so this area is safe now."
Devon looked up lazily, as if he was just remembering something. "Safe is temporary here but well, with our Dragons, we should be doing this with ease. On foot, this journey might take about two days, plus us taking wrong turns and all that, but with our Dragons, we should be out of this cursed field in just two hours."
Ayvira’s eyes flickered faintly, a subtle system scan activating.
Drahon glanced at her. "You’re scanning?"
She nodded. "Yeah. Just to be sure. The last fight was chaotic. Doesn’t hurt to be cautious."
After a few seconds, her expression changed a bit.
"I’m picking up multiple life signatures," she said. "Not nearby... but up ahead. Probably monsters. Maybe thirty or more of them."
Drahon blinked. "Thirty?"
Ayvira turned to face them both. "They’re spread out in small squads, maybe guarding something. Draconic Goblins."
Devon made a face. "It was expected."
Ayvira went on. "They’re not moving right now. Probably waiting for something, or someone."
