Chapter 46: That Hurt
The Goblin General, wasted no time, attacking with a full-powered swing. The dagger ripped through the air like it was tearing through fabric. It was fast, explosive, destructive.
Zane’s eyes stayed pinned on that dagger. He dodged low; the blade went just above him, cutting the top of his hair. He looked up immediately after and lunged forward. He leaped into the air and stabbed at full speed.
The goblin used its arm and blocked the attack. Sparks flew as the blade scraped along the metal of the armor.
The goblin pulled back its arm with the dagger and attacked again, thrusting at full speed. Zane spun and dodged the attack. He immediately retreated a few steps.
Grey stood there. Despite the instructions Zane gave him, he was unable to move. In that short exchange they had, he didn’t see even an opening to attack.
"Grey, stand back. Don’t worry about it," Zane said. There was a reason players didn’t enter the boss room anyhow. The boss of the first floor was probably the average monster on the seventh to tenth floor most of the time. It was only normal that Grey couldn’t handle something like that yet.
The goblin wasn’t interested in allowing Zane rest. It lunged forward, every step shaking the ground. It viciously swung from above.
Zane dodged to the side fast. He kicked the arm of the goblin out of the way, then lunged forward again.
"You are strong. Let’s see how you do with me going all out," Zane said. He activated his martial arts, doubling his speed in an instant. He leaped into the air, allowing himself to be an open target for the goblin.
It looked up at Zane, seeing him as open for an attack, so it swung at full force. Zane smiled. He used his dagger at the right moment, parrying the blade and then lunging forward at the shoulder.
