Chapter 235: Facing Her Fear
Rory checked herself in the mirror one more time. She is not the one testifying that way, in fact, she is yet to decide whether she should testify against Lennon or not. But she gathered up her courage to be with Liam when he testifies.
Although Liam said that he would be fine, she knew that Liam is nervous. He would like it if she was there. But he will talk about many details she probably doesn’t know yet. He said that the defense team will ask him a lot of questions about the night of Laura Brown’s abduction and murder. That was the day he went with Allison.
Rory knew Allison’s name is going to be brought up a lot of times in his questioning. It will be hard for him to answer them all in front of her. And it would be hard for her to listen. Although, thinking about it, she didn’t find any ill feelings toward Liam.
And Allison is dead. What is she going to do holding on to grudges forever? It will be hurting them both if she holds on to grudges moving forward. Liam slipped, but he didn’t even fall. He wiped himself and came back to her. That’s all she needs to focus on.
Liam chose not to cheat and came back to her.
Also, it would be the same for her if she decides to testify against Lennon. They are not going to pull any punches and they will ask many tough questions. That is one of the reasons she does not want to be there to recall that dreadful night once more. Not in front of Liam.
She talked to Liam about it and asked if she should stay home and not listen to anything about his testimony.
But he wanted her there. And so, not minding anything else, she decided to go with Liam.
"Shall we?" Liam walked to her wearing his watch. "You look pretty," he kissed her cheek. "You didn’t have to wear formal wear though. Something like a business casual would have been enough."
"I know..." Rory made a swirl and looked in the mirror. "But I do rock the pencil skirt, don’t you think? What do you say? I am much better looking than the office ladies working in your company, don’t I?" she wriggled her brows and held his hands.
They were chilly. She held his hands between hers and blew in them to warm them.
"It will be fine, Fizzy. You are going to do great," she hugged him.
