Chapter 199: Bring It Back
Rory thanked her lawyers before getting in the cab. After her thoughtless offer to Sidney’s lawyers, her lawyers kindly reminded her that she does not have to spend money to stop any proper law firms from representing Sidney.
All she has to do is to spread the word that Sidney should be blacklisted. That’s all that is needed.
Rory only then realized that she is an eagle who could fly above the clouds. She does not have to climb mountains. She doesn’t have to waste her breath. She could use the wind around her and soar.
All because of the contact Bobby Milroy gave her. But she had a feeling that even Bobby Milroy was sent her way by her grandmother. Mrs. Delport didn’t say yes or no when she asked her about it. That gave her the answer.
Is Gordon Faraday that powerful?
Sidney just kept on asking if she knew Gordon Faraday and her face went all pale. She didn’t give her answer yet, but she hoped that she is smart about it and does what is asked of her. Otherwise, she will have to be forced to do what she must do.
Rory did not want to be merciful toward Sidney anymore. She was thinking that she would think of Skyla before every decision she makes, but she does not. She made it apparent that she values money more than anything. That is not good.
She might be traumatized, but she should not go that route. Money solves a lot of problems, but greed for money creates much more problems than it solves. And the bitterness in her heart will not let her have peace even if she gets everything she wants.
Skyla deserves better.
Rory took in a deep breath as she entered the elevator to their penthouse. She should visit Bobby and his family with Liam and Ellie as she had promised him. He had helped her a lot when she needed it.
But first, she should talk to Liam about everything. She still doesn’t know what he thinks of everything. Skyla is his half-sister, and he does have a responsibility toward her.
But she was not going to compel him to do anything. It should be entirely his decision. If Liam does not want to step up, she can ask for the help of others like Sidney’s parents and siblings. She didn’t think asking the Roberts family for help would be appropriate in this issue. But there sure will be a way everything ends up fine.
