The Secret Obsession of the CEO

Chapter 192: A Possible Change

A month after Rory moved to Liam’s apartment, Rory’s days went almost identically. She woke up, cooked, cleaned, did laundry, would seriously think if she should study, and, in the end, decide not to, took all her medicines on time, and she cooked dinner. At times, she started taking care of Ellie when Liam went out.

It happened after an unexpected visit from an old friend.

Mia came to visit once a couple of weeks back. Liam was not home. that was the first time he left Ellie in her charge after she got discharged from the hospital. She found that she is not that stressed being alone with Ellie. And she was thankful for Mia’s presence.

She wondered if Liam sent Mia for that reason. She was happy that he thinks of her at every step.

Rory was happy to see her, and she thanked Mia and her mother for taking care of Ellie. Mia carefully avoided talking about anything serious and they just discussed the cafe. When Mia joked that Mr. Giles had found his victim number three, Rory could laugh along.

It was then they noticed it! Ellie was sitting on her playmat by herself. And she was staring at them with a smile.

Rory could not contain her joy. Of all the times Ellie could have done this milestone achievement, she chose to do it when she was watching her.

She ran and picked her baby up and hugged her. It was like the old days--She, her baby and Mia.

She didn’t let go of Ellie after that. But Mia left and Liam came back. And off went that sparkly feeling in her heart.

But she was feeling much better. She could take care of Ellie, feed her, bathe her and read to her a lot. Her daughter cannot be illiterate. She should learn everything. Ellie, like always, loved her mother’s stories and even the general knowledge tidbits her mother taught her.

Liam didn’t send anyone else to accompany her after that. He started to get busy these days. And she was glad he got busy. That means he is getting an opportunity to do something. She didn’t want him to stay home and end up like her. That would be terrible.

That day she was folding laundry sitting by the big window. She’s grown used to that big window. But it induced terror in her heart at night. The city was void of any color and those blinking lights of aircraft and helicopters made her mood sour.
