Chapter 46: [Bonus - ] For Her
Rory observed closely and tried to find out what Liam and Frank might be talking about. She was happy to see the smile on both of their faces. It appeared that their conversation centered around Ellie.
Ellie’s attention turned towards Frank and Frank threw the rake on the ground and got Ellie from Liam’s hands. Rory saw Liam staring at Frank for a while and then a small smile bloomed on his face as Frank started conversing with Ellie. He then picked up the rake and walked to the shed to replace it.
Is Fizzy helping his father? So adorable.
Ellie with her big eyes was listening keenly to her grandfather and she even answered him as blabbers. Liam returned and their conversation continued. Chucky started rubbing his back on Liam’s back, being the pompous ass he is.
It was very beautiful to watch.
With a pleased heart, Rory closed the drapes and got down. She needed her daily dose of caffeine and she walked to the kitchen. Plus she needs to tell Claire about the lie she told Liam. She hoped Chubster didn’t already make his appearance.
Liam’s smile vanished the moment he noticed the drapes closing. He didn’t know why but Rory’s pleading from last night did a number on him. That was not the first time she advised him to be nice to his family, but this time her words touched him deeper. He wanted to make her happy.
Dragging Chucky to his shed, he walked away from his father. He found it hard to look at his father and fake a smile. He felt guilty seeing the smile on his father’s face. After all, he is the reason his father lost his son.
His affection towards Ellie... that fat boy deserves the same too, right?
Rory smiled seeing her coffee mug still on the rack with others’ mugs. It’s little things like this that make her feel at home here. Her hand naturally reached for Liam’s mug too, but she retracted her hand and took out her mug alone.
She poured her coffee and added lots of sugar. She likes sweets. And when she is in a not-so-good mood, she tends to have more sugar.
She leaned on the counter. Staring at the trees in the distance through the window, she slowly sipped the coffee. Very soon, she won’t be able to see these trees. Her view is going to change dramatically. But hills and mountains are a nice change of view.
