Chapter 41: Swallow It
Rory didn’t want to think about the idiot Liam. She checked the time on her phone. It was 2 in the morning. In the gentle light that filled the room, Rory walked to Ellie. She was sleeping deeply.
With her little hands extended near her ears, her hands barely reached the top of her head. With her big head, she did look plenty adorable.
Who do you take after, Ellie..?
Rory’s eyes ended at Liam. He was sleeping kicking off the covers with one of his legs hanging by the side of the bed. He is a messy sleeper but he never conquers her space.
Both of them are cute! But Ellie is the cutest!
Rory’s lips curved to a smile. She saw the air conditioner was turned off. He must feel hot and that’s why he is sleeping without his shirt on. She found the remote on the nightstand and she turned on the air conditioner.
And immediately she shivered.
Every time she blinked, her eyes watered and she felt cold. Her fever is rising. Rory tried to find the medicines in the room, but she couldn’t find them. After relieving herself in the bathroom, she checked the mirror cabinet. The pills were not there either.
In the mirror, she looked pale and sickly.
Getting a fever in spring is normal for her. Usually, it would last a couple of days. But she was displeased with the timing this time. She knew Liam’s family won’t let her leave until she gets better.
Rory washed her face. Staring at the mirror, she sighed. Her entire body hurt and her head hurt the most. She knew she needs help. She cannot travel now. She could be adamant and stay in a hotel but she didn’t want to take a risk when she has Ellie depending on her.
Maybe this is better... Liam’s family can spend some more time with Ellie...And my grandmother too... It’s just a couple of days.
