Flash Marriage: Shrewd Wife, Devious Husband

Chapter 254: Her Work

Tony took oath to the office and the family moved to the White House. Maybe she loved her home back in Olive Groove more, Marcella didn’t feel like home there.

She had reverence toward that place. It was a place with great history and so many great people who formed the nation lived there. That was probably the reason she felt uneasy being there. They were the greats who contributed enormously to the nation. She was not eligible to stand there.

She was offered a chance to renovate the living area. She made sure it resembled their home. Tony, however, was as happy as a child and brought her everywhere while dropping history tidbits for her to enjoy.

This is where this president did this... Once when he was president, he did... In this garden...

Marcella was awed by Tony’s history knowledge. She thought after becoming President, Tony’s workload would increase, but he spent a lot of time with the family.

Everything ran smoothly. There were hiccups here and there; there were natural calamities that needed attention and other issues, but Tony handled it all well. He had a group of smart people around him who he trusted and with their help, the administration ran smoothly.

Marcella continued with her charities and helped anyone who needed it. After becoming the first lady, she had more access to certain benefits. She started a new foundation for young boys who were affiliated with gangs.

She grew up with men who chose violence to be their career and heard their stories a thousand times. She didn’t think anyone would stay in that life if they had a chance. Her heart went for those guys who became gangsters because they lacked proper guidance.

She also urged her administration to crack down on gang violence, especially drugs. Most problems are caused by drugs. She knew the importance of a drug-free society. Of course, she knew it was not possible. The government could if it wanted to, but the government was not a monolith. The government consisted of many individuals; some of them were morally corrupt and had power.

But she did what she could do the best.
