Chapter 247: First Outing
In the days that followed, Beth went rogue as she was provoked. Her husband’s interview was aired and her counter statement was not believed by the people.
The heartless way she acted toward her son who tried to talk to her was published in every gossip rag exposing her true behavior toward her family.
Beth cared about none of that. doubled down and named Tony as the married man she had an affair with. She said that she had proof of Tony’s infidelity and she was willing to release everything to the media.
Tony’s side took action and released a legal statement contending her allegations and invited her to settle it in court.
Beth tried to manipulate the public still with her fake tears and using some naïve feminists who thought that all men are violent offenders and that Beth must be telling the truth.
It did cause some damage to Tony’s reputation and caused speculation to arise about him running for the Senate.
Tony was not bothered by what was going on there. He knew he won already. He didn’t let that barking dog ruin his mood. He used his power and shut down every news organization that wrote about his affair non-stop by suing them. He then put a gag order on Beth by taking her to court for defamation.
Their lawyers were talking as Beth appeared to want to settle out of court. She wanted a statement issued by Tony apologizing to her for using her.
Tony didn’t agree to that, of course.
At that time, Tony got an invite to attend the premiere of a movie. Usually, Tony wouldn’t attend the premieres since both Marcella and he didn’t like to mingle with vague narcissistic Hollywood stars.
