Chapter 186: Realization
The door was to Marcella’s back and she couldn’t see who was standing there but seeing the exhaustion on the cop’s face was a little relief for her. Someone the cop hated was standing there and that gave her some hope.
Marcella tried to look back but before she could see who was standing there, the cop walked to the door and blocked her way. She heard some muffled murmurs and the detective grunted audibly.
Marcella heard someone else stepping closer and the detective decided to storm off.
"You must give me the copy of Mrs. Crawford’s statement, Detective Keenan! Here on out, you will talk to me first before you talk to my client."
Marcella’s eyes brightened hearing that voice. "Uncle Karl!" she stood up.
She didn’t see her uncle there but John Emerson was standing by the door. Marcella was pleasantly surprised. She didn’t think that an FBI agent came to her aide.
"I was just telling the detective why I wouldn’t need that many bullets to finish off one person!" Marcella walked to him with a smile.
She looked for Uncle Karl. He was walking with the detective to probably learn more about the case against her. She almost walked past John Emerson, but he blocked her. Pressing his hands on the threshold of the door, he pinned her. He leaned to her eye level and she could feel his breath on her lips.
Marcella didn’t like this development. Squinting her eyes, she looked at him. He stared at her and she didn’t break eye contact.
"One might argue that you used so many bullets on him just to disfigure his face enough to disintegrate him; out of hate. I mean, isn’t he the one who killed your sister and brother-in-law? Also, if the rumors are right, Paul is Antony’s father. He refused to acknowledge him and tried to kill him..." John smirked.
