Chapter 165: Misgiving
That evening Marcella decided to cook dinner. She hadn’t been cooking for a while and so she went all in. While she was prepping, Tony joined her right after a shower.
When they left the garden, he was in some thoughts. He was not even listening to her. She thought he looked better after the shower.
"You can rest if you want. I don’t want help," she patted his chest.
His hair was still a little wet and a lot messy. She looked around and there was no one around. He must have sent everyone away. Her heart skipped a beat learning that they were alone.
She leaned closer and sneaked a kiss. She thought he would pick her up and stick himself in then and there. She expected him to; the situation called for it. She was that hungry after a week of abstinence.
Marcella was in for a shock as Tony stood there without moving. He didn’t look like he had accepted the kiss or rejected it. He looked unaffected. Marcella didn’t know what to do when faced with such a situation. This situation never happened to her memory. Even if she gives him a quarter of an inch, he would take ten miles of advantage.
She was miffed. Tony walked to the counter and started prepping the chicken. He even smiled at her. The sliver of confusion vanished and she decided to let it pass.
She joined him and both of them cooked. Marcella turned on the radio and danced along the tune. She thought Tony would join her but he was focused on cooking. At times she swirled around him, he laughed it off. He didn’t lay a single hand on her. At times when he walked around, his hand grazed over her leaving her hot and bothered but he was poker-faced.
By the time dinner was cooked, Marcella was so tired emotionally. She thought they have talked it out but maybe Tony was still mad. He didn’t promise her what she wanted to hear either. He was not convinced that someone powerful was looking after her. He didn’t look happy when she mentioned it. He didn’t talk to her about it either.
Maybe the fight was not over?
