"I’ll tell you exactly what happened there, Tony," Marcella held her hand.
She didn’t understand why her mother reacted pretty strongly back then. It was one of those rare times her sister and she heard her mother being so loud with her father. Thinking back now, Marcella could understand the kind of trouble she was in and why her mother gave hell to her father about bringing her with him.
Tony leaned closer.
"It was that time when my dad... He stopped bringing me with him a lot because my mom was against it. That day, however, I sneaked out with dad. Henry and Randy were with us. Dad was pretty excited to bring me along to meet some rich businessman. He loved kids, dad said and..."
Marcella looked down as that day’s incident became more and more clear to her. Tony’s grip on her hand tightened thinking she was affected by her memory.
"I’m fine," she met his eyes. "You’re so cute, Tony..." Even in that time, she couldn’t help but appreciate her husband.
Tony chuckled. She didn’t appear to be traumatized by that incident so nothing bad must have happened. He leaned back leisurely.
Marcella patted Joey back to sleep while humming a soft tune.
"I was waiting outside as that man wanted to talk to my dad privately. Henry and Randy were stopped by the door as it was the procedure. My dad later told me that he wanted to invest his money in something and that was the meeting about. Maybe he wanted to invest in the movie industry..."
Tony nodded.
