Chapter 112: Returning Feelings
The next morning, Tony was in a good mood as he waited for his breakfast. The coffee was brewed and there was fresh orange juice on the table. All that’s left is for his wife to join him.
Marcella woke up earlier that day in the hopes of catching him before he left. She wanted to send him off with a kiss. She can’t be sleeping in every morning. That’s not a good look.
Turned out, he didn’t have to leave early that morning, after all. Marcella served the sausage egg bake. She waited to see Tony’s reaction. He buried his head in and she smiled knowing that he loved it.
It was her father’s favorite breakfast. He used to make that all the time. At times, they would complain asking him to cook something else. But he never listened to them.
"The bill is going to be sent to voting in the Senate next week," Tony spoke only after finishing his plate.
"You finished drafting it? That’s good. Congratulations! You want another serving?" she asked. He had licked the plate clean.
"No... I am not used to eating breakfast. The last time I ate breakfast regularly was when we were in school... You followed Don’s recipe, didn’t you? It’s so perfect!" He smiled gleefully; she could see the fine lines in the corners of his eyes.
"You’ll be leaving for Washington, then?" she asked.
"Yes... For a day or two, you’ll have to be alone... I’ll arrange for your~"
"I can manage," she said. "You don’t have to worry."
"We can move to your family home after I return. Is that okay with you? It would be much safer for you if you stay in an apartment than in that estate."
Marcella nodded. He has thought about it. He didn’t tell her this last night though. It’s like his mind was occupied with something else the whole night.
