Chapter 95: His Fault
Marcella went to bed after Tony left. She couldn’t sleep for a long time. There was a pulsating feeling all over her body and she felt hot even though the temperature was fairly cold.
She needed something to snuff out the fire burning inside her but she didn’t know what she needed.
After rolling in the bed for some time, she fell asleep. Tony didn’t return the whole night. He didn’t return until she was about to leave for work.
She called him. She tried to ignore his absence as he told her that he was busy, but she couldn’t help but worry. Her husband has a lot of enemies. What if something bad happened?
She knew she wouldn’t be able to relax until she confirms that he was safe.
She called his office. Someone else answered the phone—a woman.
Stella was sweet and polite. She told her that Tony was in his office and he fell asleep on his chair. Stella didn’t want to wake him up.
Stella told Marcella that she thought it would be too cruel to wake up that sleeping beauty even after she knew it was his wife calling.
Marcella fisted her hands. She was so mad. She almost went off on Stella but she held back. She didn’t want to wake up Tony either.
She didn’t understand what made her so mad though. After asking Stella to inform Tony that she called, she ended the call.
She was not pleased. Not at all. For some reason, she got mad at Tony. Why is he showing Stella his sleeping face? Why is he making Stella worry? Doesn’t he have a wife at home worrying for him?
With a grumpy face, she stomped out of the house. On her way to the office, she realized why she was mad at Stella.
