Flash Marriage: Shrewd Wife, Devious Husband

Chapter 67: The Secret Lair

Tony watched Marcella as she was giving details about the suit. She was talking about the length of the lapel corner, the sweep and the flow of the sleeve. She chose an expensive fabric and she chose the color of the suit too.

It reminded him of their prom. But this is a significantly more important event in their life.

The concentration she has, and the dominating aura around her. Amazing! he always admired her for her smartness.

She’s not book smart, not by a long shot. She did terrible in her classes. So what if she couldn’t understand trigonometry? How many times did anyone use trigonometry in a day to function?

Learning does not equate to intelligence.

She’s smart in other ways. No one can read people like she could. She had helped her father in the past too by being so intuitive. Even today, she managed to get Tailor Caruso to do what she wanted without plainly asking for help.

He couldn’t break into that side of the supporters of Don DeAngelo but she did so easily. He wouldn’t say it was just because she’s, his daughter. Paul had tried to frame her as an enemy all his life. And yet, she stepped in and took over that shop as if it was hers to take.

He couldn’t do that. He tried to charm his way in but it didn’t work. He might have come off like a boot-licker. But she... she is amazing.

She is her father’s daughter.

He couldn’t stop admiring her.

When they left, old man Caruso bowed with his hands on his chest. He was standing beside her and got the respect she got. It made him proud.

This is how she should live. Not like some office worker with her head bowed and eyes wandering around looking for danger around. She should not live ashamed of herself or in fear.
