Chapter 49: The Warning
Tony decided to leave. He didn’t want to be found arguing by the road with another woman. Cindy didn’t look like she was fine but he didn’t care. She has to deal with her delusions herself.
"All for that slut? She sleeps with whomever she likes, you know. You married that sort of woman and are throwing ME away?" Cindy asked.
Tony fisted his hands and almost turned to punch Cindy in the face. He had to remind himself that he can’t be seen punching a woman in the middle of the street.
He turned and faced Cindy although he despised the sight of her. "Explain," he said, his voice turning deep baritone. There was no expression on his face and yet even the air around him had turned cold inducing fear in Cindy’s heart.
"Explain how she’s a slut," he asked, still holding his patience that was on the brink of extinction.
"You don’t know?" Cindy raised her brow. Her eyes were crazily large, her reddened lips curved up, and her nose flared out of excitement. She rushed to him like how a hungry raccoon would leap toward a filled-up trash can.
"You saw how she jumped to go to lunch with Louis Fletcher because he is richer than you. She doesn’t care she is married. How would she? She’s her father’s daughter. She slept with a guy when she was barely eighteen and refused to marry him. After that, you know, she had a boyfriend who left her because~"
"That’s enough, Cindy," Tony stopped her.
She had to bring up "that" issue and call her a slut for that.
"It hurts, doesn’t it, Tony?" Cindy scoffed. "That’s the kind of woman you married."
