Chapter 130: Can’t Blame Her
"She wanted Marcus Zoros to be the sole heir, Lexa," Maximus said looking at the floor.
Alexandra couldn’t figure out what he was thinking. He looked more angered than being sad. But just like that, the little understanding Alexandra had for Theodora vanished. Lord Zoros accepted Marcus as his son and Theodora was not satisfied with that. She wanted Marcus to be the single heir of the Zoros family.
"She is not a good woman, is she?" Alexandra let out a sigh.
"Don’t sigh for her..."Maximus lay on her lap once more.
Alexandra caressed his hair in deep thoughts. "Do you really know it was Theodora?" she asked to confirm. Because she couldn’t understand how someone would be so filled with hate to kill two sons of another woman just for her son to become the heir.
"It was the dark mage," Maximus said. "She’s been using him for doing her bidding for a while. I only found out about it recently. I..." Maximus gritted his teeth.
Alexandra could sense the rage in him and she kissed his forehead. His rage reduced a bit, but he was still angry. It made her wonder if it is this place that makes him this angry. She didn’t see him this dark before. Or it could be that she didn’t see behind his face till then.
Either way, she decided to help Maximus attain the peace he deserves.
"Do you remember Theodus?" Maximus asked.
"I do..." Alexandra nodded. "I did something terrible to him..."
"It’s not just you. We all did."
Maximus wouldn’t let Alexandra take all the blame. She was the one who had the power to do it, but that doesn’t exclude them from what they did to him. They used him for their agenda and hence separated him from his family.
