Lianlian couldn’t breath as he remembered what he heard as a child. With his father being sick for years, he thought his father might pass away first but contrary to his beliefs, it was his mother.
And after his mother’s passing, he thought his father won’t hold on to his life anymore, but he took care of himself pretty well till now. He was devastated to realise it was all because his father was waiting for the day of their mother’s death anniversary.
"Father!" Lianlian squatted beside his father and looked at him pleadingly, "Can you not go?"

Chenglei chuckled seeing his forty year old son, acting like he used to act when he was a child. He knew this son, who was named after the Tianshi Emperor is actually the reincarnation of that Emperor too. His wife might have thought she kept that secret but that poor girl can never hide anything from him and slipped it up one night when she was half-asleep. Chenglei was a bit ambivalent about that fact but later he found that who his son was in the previous incarnation is irrelevant.

Lianlian is more attached to him than his mother. Chenglei knew that the Tianshi Emperor was more attached to his mother since his father never cared for him and only cared for his mother. He was close with Fei Lian since he missed the father figure in his life.
’Maybe that’s why he is more attached to me this life?’

And so all of them left for the West and they reached the Jin Manor three days before the anniversary. Little Yu and her mother-in-law, the Empress of Fire Kingdom arrived in a ship too. Of all the children, she was the one who couldn’t attend the funeral and so she came bringing along her husband and children.
