Chapter 446: She is Cured, But he?
In the White Palace, high up the clouds, two of the great gods were cheering with good wine in their cups. They were clearly in a celebratory mood.
"Yeeees, finally!", Mazu shrieked. "I thought the little one will never get that medicine, forever"
"Sush!", Fei Lian waved his hand to make Mazu tone down her cheers. They have done something against the rules of the Heavens.
The Purple Lotus bloomed a year back and as if the Heavenly Emperor knew about his plans, he asked the Lotus for himself.
Fei Lian did give that Lotus to his Emperor.
But, no one knew of the other lotus he had been secretly growing in his garden and that bloomed later.
In fact, that day in the council, Fei Lian wanted to slip in the medicine from the Purple Lotus to her but maybe because the Emperor saw his over enthusiasm, he decided to not allow him to get close to his poor descendant who lost the ability to carry a child.
Her descendants will be his descendants too and he would like to see his descendants flourish in the human realm.
So he hid it in the dress Mazu prepared to give to their descendant. Without knowing about the medicine, Mazu passed it to Chenglei. Of course she asked permission of the Heavenly Emperor to give a gift to her descendants.
Fei Lian was smart and didn’t tell Mazu that he placed the medicine inside the robes till she gave it to Chenglei, even though that medicine was enchanted by Mazu even before the Council meeting, to grant the little one’s deep heart wish which he knew would be for her to have a child and he knew the spell would double the efficiency of the drug.
Now no one will be held accountable even if the little one was found to take the Purple Lotus. Fei Lian gave the one purple lotus he had to their Emperor and Mazu gave only a set of dress. Even if the other gods doubt some god helped their Prince, their suspicion will move to their Emperor and no one would say a word now or in the future against their Emperor who is proved to be biased against their Prince too.
Mazu just shrugged off Fei Lian’s warning to not speak loudly. It’s not like anyone could reverse the effect of the spell and medicine anymore. And that little one won’t let it happen too.
