Chapter 438: Tears and Words
Xing, sitting in her carriage on her way to the Inn, couldn’t help but felt her heartbeat racing out of excitement. There were many times she and Chenglei have stayed apart in the past and each time it was due to unavoidable circumstances and due to the gods’ interference. This was the first time they’ve been apart for this long because of a fight.
Xing wondered how she’d react after meeting Chenglei after long and how she should start the conversation. She was pondering about Chenglei’s reaction after she gets there too.
But when she sneaked a look at him through the curtains, she was touched by the pitiful way he looked and she felt bad for him.
Guess he is stressed about this meeting as much as I do too.
When she got out of the carriage, he held out his hand for her but as she was holding the baby she couldn’t give her hand and she could see the surprise in his eyes and it made her a bit aware of the situation she is in.
Bringing in a child to raise is a big decision and she has made such an important decision by herself and more over this child is the crown price of another kingdom. This will cause a lot of troubles if not handled properly.
But then again, she didn’t have a choice with this child. He was forced on her by her friend for his safety and what else could she do? Throw the newly born child away to die?
She knew Chenglei is not that heartless and could understand her if she explained properly.
"Ooohh....aaaah", the baby cooed waving his little stubby hand looking at Chenglei.
Chenglei who was terrified looking at his wife donning a serious expression, moved his eyes to the sweet little child who looked at him with his big watery eyes blinking and his toothless mouth had a smile as he waved his little hand with his fingers all pink and small.
How cute...
Ah! It’s a shame he is not our son.
