Xing woke up to see the curtains of the bed closed and she could smell food and only then she realised she had slept till breakfast time.
She knew of the custom in their kingdom to serve tea to the elder women of their marital home the next morning of their wedding. Even if his mother is dead, she should at least do the custom. And since their wedding was a royal wedding, shouldn’t she follow the customs if the inner palace and meet those Consorts? Or what are the rules again?
"Ah! Why didn’t you wake me up? Shouldn’t I serve tea?", Xing tried to sit up but he held her down.
