LEGEND OF THE GOLDEN TIGRESS

Chapter 394: The Arrow That Didn’t Miss

They were all guided to the inner palace where their accommodations were arranged but Xing thought it would be better to leave now since she felt something wrong and Chenglei agreed with her too.

During the commotion in getting out of the hall , they had lost Prince Kang and Su Yunxi and Chenglei held her hands and lead her out sneakily.

As they were about to get our of the inner palace, they were blocked by a sly looking man in his thirties. He hadn’t even changed his blood splattered robes but he stood in front of them politely.

"Lady and Lord Li... Please...", the Crown Prince pointed his fan making a beautiful arch towards the inner palace.

"Please accept our hospitality! Otherwise we will be offended. Our Emperor has already arranged for an audience for you in the Imperial Court tomorrow morning", he gave a smile that concealed a lot of emotions.

What a cunning fox! Xing thought looking at him. He is threatening he won’t let us leave and also that they won’t listen to our demands if we leave now.

As Chenglei was talking with the Crown Prince trying to wiggle out of there, Xing noticed Prince Kang and Su Yunxi trying to sneak out.

The crown prince stopped them too.

"Uncle, why are you leaving too? You know it is ominous to get home after the ceremony for the god of Fire. Why don’t you accompany our nation’s guests in the Charming Bliss courtyard?"

His tone had many underlying meanings to it and none of them were stupid enough to believe that was a request.

Xing on the other hand just complied to the Crown Prince’s order/request. She didn’t want to put her supposed brother’s family at risk.

The prince saw the leaving back of the four and had a content smile in his face. His father wanted something and he will help him get it. And in turn he will get the throne!
