Chapter 347: The Attack
Xing got down from the roof when Rijun approached her and the Emperor got back into the Study after Rijun greeted him. Their relationship did seem strained.
But, Unlike Weiye, the first thing Rijun noticed was the White Tiger Token hanging in Xing’s waist and gave a polite bow.
"Can you tell me what happened on your way here?", he was polite as he talked. Not only this woman inquired him about Xu Mama but also she seems close with his father spending time with him a lot lately and his father seems to be in good health lately after he met her. Now he had learnt that she is the bearer of the White Tiger Token. So it is his duty to be polite with her.
And for some reason he liked her even though by his wife’s words she should be some kind of demon who destroys and should be exterminated. She even told him the Emperor is under her spell and he should be rescued from her clutches too. But why does he find her adorable... Like how he feels thinking about his late little sister? She is obviously a different person!
"Your wife asked her maid to slap me because I refused to move back my carriage after Chu Zhilan blocked my way",Xing answered flatly a bit surprised by her brother’s behaviour.
Why is he not fighting me for the sake of his wife?
Rijun sighed deeply after hearing her reply, "I apologise on behalf of my wife. Thank you for not sending her to prison this time"
Is he insinuating I can send her to prison in the future? Xing was confused.
"I did it for the sake of father.. Um... Your father... The Prime Minister",Xing replied truthfully.
"Oh!", Rijun nodded. "Get in!", he pointed at the study thinking she’d be talking with the Emperor, "It’s cold outside"
"Its fine,bro...Minister. I’m leaving", Xing was really surprised. Somehow it felt like how he’d treat her before. Does he remember me?
"Xu mama never went back to her village. All her tracks are gone after she left the Prime Minister’s Manor. There aren’t even records of her passing the city gates", Xing told Rijun and she could see him widen his eyes in surprise.
