Chapter 338: Getting Ignored
Xing left the restaurant with her eyes clouded not because she felt humiliated by the way she was treated but because she learnt that Chenglei had a Fiancé. She was never treated that way, ever... She was called mean words but never in her life did someone threw something at her.
But when Chenglei appeared at the right time to defend his Fiancé... That’s when she felt like her heart was ripped out... Why is that he, the one who promised her to make her happy is the one hurting her the most?
As she walked out, she saw a carriage stop by her side and there it was, the pretty face she didn’t met for a while.
"Milord! Is that you? Long time no see! ", Seiren’s pretty face popped out from the window, "What’s with the dirt?", he pointed at her sleeves, "Get in! I’ll ask Maya to get you a change of clothes", he added seeing her dejected look.
Xing stared at him for a second and wondered why Seiren remembered her while her brother didn’t and she was not in the mood to think deeply and she got in his carriage with no second thoughts.
Through the way to the Zhong Manor Seiren talked nonstop and it seemed like he remembered her as Lord Táng and not as the Empress and every interaction they had, he remembered as her as Lord Táng and not as Huang Mingxia. He seemed to remember that his father loved her a lot and also her tea. But if he remembers me as Lord Táng how come others forgot me?
Whatever!
Xing was arranged a bath in the Zhong Manor and a change of clothes and she visited Matroness Zhong and she was pleased to meet her after long. Seeing her putting aside the first cup for the Oldman as usual, Matroness Zhong was pleased and she couldn’t help but stop her tears.
Xing asked to visit the Zhong family Mausoleum and she knelt in front of the old man’s memorial tablet and she could not stop her tears.
"Chenglei found another woman... Oldman... ", She told him even though she knew he cannot hear her. Whenever she had troubles it was him who’d give her the solution and it always came easy to him. He’d hug her like a bear and would give the best advise there is.
