Chapter 291: Am I Dreaming?
Chenglei saw the arrow that seemed to be translucent and made of water coming straight at him and he just stood there wondering what Xing might be thinking and he realised that Prince Kang was right behind him and that arrow is for him.
Xing even in her wrath knew that Chenglei would move from the path of the arrow and as she expected Chenglei prepared to move and the arrow just went on it’s trajectory for the Prince.
But the unexpected happened when the Princess Consort got in the way seeing the arrow coming towards him and hugged her husband in the way of the arrow...
There he goes! Another scum using his wife as a shield!
Xing sneered but what happened next made Xing perplexed.
The arrow passed Chenglei and with only a few feet away, the Prince swirled hugging his wife with his back facing the arrow.
" Su Yunxi!", he cried as he held her close to him and covering her from the oncoming arrow with his back facing the arrow.
Xing who had now calmed down with all the thunderclouds dissipated could hear the painful cry of that man for his wife.
Yunxi! Is that her name? Xing’s heart clenched as the arrow that was inches away from Prince Kang’s back just fell on the wooden floor of the ship as a splotch of water.
Chenglei who had observed those two in the past days while travelling together had a pretty good idea of the weird relationship between the couple. That woman cared for her husband a lot and is under the impression that he has no care for her but the man is hiding his deep love for her for some unknown reasons. This was the first time Chenglei had seen him losing his composure and this is the first time he is calling his wife by her name even. They even slept in different rooms. He had no idea why a married couple had such relationship and he had no interest in knowing that either. In his opinion, it is rather foolish to keep your love in your heart as a secret without letting it known to the person concerned. What kind of man conceals his love for his lawfully wedded wife? Chenglei was a bit angry at him.
