Chapter 249: Show Of Strength
The Emperor asked Xing to follow him and they went close to the trench where on the other side of the trench the men of the Lilai Tribe were subjugated by the Zhong army under Zhong Huojin but they were still struggling to get free.
The Emperor nodded at Chief Batukhan who was surprised by everything happening there.
"I give you a deal..! Try and kill the Empress... I will give my throne to the one who takes the head of the Empress", he proclaimed.
Geez! Must you give them this good of an incentive! Xing chided the Emperor in her heart.
" But my bet is that, The Empress will kill all of you", the Emperor smirked, "Let’s see how this all will turn out?"
"Kill them all, Mingxia!", the Emperor said and pushed her towards the trench and went back to his chair to take a seat. He didn’t look worried even a little bit.
Everyone wondered how she might cross the trench. It was at least twenty feet wide and thirty feet deep and no one there could jump that much distance!
Xing who was still surprised with everything happening there, walked towards them with her eyes looking for the Tianshi Emperor. But when she spotted him, he was smiling at her asking her to fight well and Xing pouted as she was walking.
Geez! What’s with the proud smile! Can’t he join me for help?
She could hear the people gasping in surprise and that’s when she noticed that she was standing halfway through the trench and beneath her feet is the deep trench which is now being filled with water almost to its half...
