Chapter 121: Agony of Partition
Seiren was perching on the windowsill of his father’s study with roasted peanuts on his side and fanning himself. Everytime Xing visited his father, he had good entertainment and today was no exception.
Today too, after watching her beat his men, his father drank the tea she made and told her to ask him whatever she wants. And she asked a stupid thing. She could have asked him his wine collections and he’d have gladly given it to her but no, she asked him to accept Huang MingXue as his daughter-in-law.
"You stupid brat! How could she be suitable for the Zhong family?", Lord Zhong shouted.
"You stubborn Oldman! How could you refuse love?", Xing shouted back.
So that’s her issue... Seiren thought, She just wants them together because they love each other? Does she think if she helps other people’s love to get fulfilled, her love will be fulfilled somehow? How naive! Everyone’s a fool for love, it seems!
" What use is love when you get blinded because of it and lose your common sense?", Lord Zhong retorted back.
" Not everyone is like you Oldman! Your brains and muscles have splitted up between your two sons. Everyone cannot have everything, right? Give him a choice", Xing said and left to meet Lady Zhong.
Did she meant what I thought she meant? Seiren wondered.
Lord Zhong rubbed his temples. His time here will be soon over. He is blessed to have two sons who are not going behind each others back to take the title of the next head of the family. His younger son is under the notion that his elder brother will be the next head of the family. But is he competent enough to run the family?
It was pretty clear in the last problem that the second son is better in finding the proper solution. His elder son as that brat mentioned, is good at military tactics and physical fighting and not much in these mental battles... The woman he chose is not the sharpest tool in the shed. But refusing her adamantly might result in negative results too.

That evening, Xing was as usual helping her brother finish his work. They were in their father’s study and the entire room was quiet.
