My Life As The First S-Class Guide

Chapter 81: BUSINESS PROPOSAL

"SONG MOONHO is really annoying!"

Yool agreed with Graham’s sentiment, but he didn’t agree with the way he was acting.

By that, he meant Graham putting his head on Yool’s shoulder while Yool was making "bunnies" out of the apple that he peeled earlier.

[Why is this brat doing this to me in front of his lover?]

Yool raised his head to check on Ahn Kisoo’s reaction.

To be honest, he was expecting the Guide to give him a death glare.

But, much to Yool’s surprise, Ahn Kisoo was looking at him with a worried look on his face.

Why, though?

"I’m sorry, Yool-ssi," Ahn Kisoo said apologetically. "Because you protected me, you caught Song Moonho’s attention."

"As I said before, it wasn’t your fault, Kisoo-ssi," Yool said, then he continued making "apple bunnies." "And I already reached an agreement with Moonho-ssi. I’m fine, so please stop worrying about me. Actually, that’s exactly the reason I’m here– I want the two of you to be assured that Song Moonho is no longer a threat to me."

"Are you sure, Yool-ssi?"

"Yep, 100%," he assured the Guide. "Song Moonho can’t punish me for shooting his brother unless he wants to make an enemy of Wony. And I’m telling you– Song Moonho can’t afford to do that."

"I see," Ahn Kisoo said, obviously relieved. "I’m glad to hear that then, Yool-ssi."

"You may speak casually to me, Kisoo-ssi," Yool said awkwardly. "You’re older than me."

Well, not really.

As Ong Yool, his original self, he was older than Graham and Ahn Kisoo.

But as Gong Yool, the failed idol, he was younger than the two.

[Fortunately, I’m not the type who cares whether a younger person talks informally to me as long as they’re not being an asshole about it.]

And Yool had to make Ahn Kisoo talk casually to him.

[He’s a rare A-Class Guide, and he’s the Guide to one of the members of the Big 4. His social rank is higher than mine. People will find it weird that he’s speaking so formally to a Civilian younger than him.]

"Will that be alright?" Ahn Kisoo asked shyly. "Is it really okay if I talk to you casually."

"Yes."

"Alright then, Yool-ah," Ahn Kisoo said, beaming. "You may also speak to me casually since we’re only a year apart."

"No, thank you," Yool said bluntly. "I can’t speak formally to a VIP like Kisoo-ssi."

"But you talk informally to me," Graham, who was still using Yool’s shoulder as a pillow, complained half-heartedly. "Am I not a VIP to you?"

"Should I start speaking formally to you, Graham-ssi?"

"No, don’t."

[Make up your mind, dummy.]

Yool noticed that Ahn Kisoo looked dejected, so he explained. "It’s easier to curse at people whom I speak informally, too. And Graham-ssi is one of the people I like cursing internally for being annoying."

Ahn Kisoo suddenly burst out laughing. "Ah, I get it now."

Yool actually expected Graham to complain, but the Hunter remained silent.

Hmm?

[It’s unusual for Graham to be this quiet– oh, fuck.]

Graham suddenly fell to the floor while covering his ears with his hands.

Yool froze on the spot when he realized what was happening.

[Is Graham on the verge of going on a rampage?]

"Oh no," Ahn Kisoo said, almost jumping off of the bed. Then he knelt beside Graham and held the Hunter’s hand tightly. It only lasted for a moment before the Guide let out a frustrated sigh. "It’s still not working."

Right.

Yool remembered that Ahn Kisoo’s power disappeared mysteriously.

"Wait here, Graham," Ahn Kisoo said. "I’ll just call the others–"

"Chu Wonhee," Graham said weakly, grabbing Ahn Kisoo by the hand. "The System is telling me to receive Guiding from Chu Wonhee."

Oh, right.

[My friend is an S-Class Guide!]

"Kisoo-ssi, it’s dangerous for you to leave your guild when Graham is in this state," Yool said, and then he turned to Graham who could barely open his eyes. "Graham-ssi, let me bring you to Wony."

***

WHEN THE System informed Wonhee that she needed to guide Hunter Graham, she didn’t expect her guest to arrive in less than five minutes.

And the S-Class Hunter didn’t come alone.

"Wony-ah," Yool, who was holding Graham’s hand while dragging him, greeted him in a hurry. "Graham needs your Guiding."

Wonhee nodded. "Yes, the System just informed me about it."

To be honest, she expected Graham to be in a worse state.

But, much to her pleasant surprise, Graham seemed to be calm while walking behind Yool quietly.

[He looks a little pale, though.]

Could it be...?

"Yool-ah, how did you get here?"

"I drove Graham-ssi’s car," Yool said, his face beaming. "That shit is fast."

Oh, dear.

Graham suddenly covered his mouth with his hand. "The sound of my car’s engine was louder than the Static in my head. I didn’t know Yool drove so recklessly. I’ve long forgotten what it feels like to fear for my life until I sat in the passenger seat with Yool as the driver..."

Wonhee nodded in agreement, sympathizing with Graham.

[Yool always drives as if he’s in a car chase...]

"Stop being dramatic, Graham-ssi," Yool scolded the S-Class Hunter. "I drove here as fast as I could for you. Plus, the members of the Big 4 get away with driving pass the limit. Nobody even dared to stop us even though we beat the red lights several times."

All the cars registered under the Big 4 were exempted from all kinds of traffic laws.

[The Big 4 privilege is real.]

"Thank you for bringing Graham here, Yool-ah."

To be honest, Wonhee had so many questions for Yool.

[Like why is he with Graham again?]

But she knew she had to do her job first.

"Hunter Graham, the System asked me to guide you," Wonhee said. "My Guiding technique is pretty unique. I’m afraid I have to bring you to my bedroom..."

As expected, Graham looked shocked. "We haven’t been tested for a matching rate yet, so we can’t perform Advanced Treatment. And I don’t want to."

Wonhee was about to explain when, suddenly, Yejun smacked Graham at the back of his head unapologetically.

She covered her mouth with her hands when she gasped.

[Yejun-ah, did you forget Graham-ssi is older than us?!]

"Wonhee isn’t talking about Advanced Treatment," Yejun said coldly. "Get your mind out of the gutter."

"Did you just hit me?" Graham asked in disbelief. "I thought Koreans value seniority here. I’m older than you, Hwang Yejun."

"So what?"

Yool let out a sigh. "Graham-ssi, I thought you were unwell?"

"I am," Graham said, his dark orange eyes glowing. "I’m usually patient with our maknae, but I want to burn him right now..."

The S-Class Hunter suddenly trailed off, and then he stumbled a bit.

Fortunately, Yool and Yejun both caught Graham before he fell.

Wonhee clenched her hands. "Hunter Graham, please follow me."

***

<YOU CANNOT enter the <Sleeping Salon>!

Chu Wonhee’s Mana Tank is still small. Two members of the Big 4 would immediately suck out her energy!

If you don’t want Chu Wonhee to be in danger, then stay put!>

Tsk.

Yejun clicked his tongue after Wonhee closed the door in his face, and then a notification from the System arrived.

[Why do I feel like the notification was written by the talking orange?]

As if that wasn’t enough to irritate him, he also had to deal with the fact that Graham was alone with his Wonhee right now.

"I want to kill Han Graham..."

Yejun only whispered it to himself, but the person next to him heard him and even commented on his remark.

"Please do it where I can’t see, man."

Yejun glared at Gong Yool who immediately avoided his gaze.

[He’s scared of me, but he’s not afraid to speak his mind.]

As expected of Wonhee’s best friend.

"Han Graham has Ahn Kisoo, so why did you bring that flame thrower here?"

Yool glanced back at him, obviously annoyed. "Don’t lash out at me just because you’re jealous."

Jealous?

[Me?]

Now Yejun felt even weirder.

Being an X-Class Hunter meant he had lost some of his human emotions along with a part of his humanity.

Hence, he was confused.

[What is jealousy in the first place?]

Yejun’s thinking moment was interrupted when Yool answered a phone call.

"Song Moonho-ssi?" Yool asked, surprised. "How did you get my number..."

Yejun frowned.

[Song Moonho? Again?]

"How did you even know I’m at Wony’s house... never mind. You’re a ghost, indeed. Yes, Yejun-ssi is here."

Hmm?

Yejun turned to Yool in time to see the guy handing his phone to him with both hands.

"The old man said he needs to talk to you, Hwang Frost-ssi."

"We’re the same age– just call me by my name," Yejun said, then he took Yool’s phone and answered the call. "What is it, old man?"

<"I need your help.">

"Are you dying?"

<"The dungeon that I took over is a better match for you than it is for me. I entered it for a moment before I stepped out to call. I figured your ability would make my job here easier.">

"I’m currently inactive–"

<"Since when did you care about the law?">

"Since I met the law-abiding Chu Wonhee."

<"Do you know if Miss Chu has had dragon meat yet?">

Ah.

Yejun wasn’t that stupid to not understand what Song Moonho meant by that.

[There’s a dragon in that dungeon!]

"I can’t sneak out for too long, old man."

Song Moonho laughed on the other end of the line. <"If it’s you and me, we could easily destroy this dungeon in just two or three hours.">

"Gotcha," Yejun said, nodding. "Send me your location."
